Lufthansa, the leading European air carrier, will offer new flights to India connecting New Delhi from August 6. The airline will ply the latest Boeing 747-8 aircraft on Frankfurt-Delhi route.
Leading European carrier Lufthansa has made an announcement to operate the latest Boeing 747-8 aircraft between Frankfurt and India’s capital city, New Delhi. The daily flight services will begin from 6 August 2012.
“Lufthansa passengers travelling between Delhi and Frankfurt will soon fly in unprecedented comfort and style in the most recent aircraft to enter service worldwide. From Aug 6, 2012, Lufthansa is going to serve this route with its latest global fleet member – the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental (B747-8),” news reports quoted Lufthansa’s South Asia director, Axel Hilgers, as stating.
“Choosing India as launch-pad for our latest two products in Asia underlines this market’s importance in our global network as well as our commitment to grow here,” said Hilgers.
The air carrier made the announcement after receiving the delivery of its second B747-8 known as “Queen of the Skies”.
Delhi is the first Asian destination served by Lufthansa’s new aircraft B747-8.
Configured with 8 first class, 92 business class and 262 economy class seats, the latest features of B747-8 are sure to maximize in-flight experience. Passengers who will book tickets for Lufthansa’s new Business Class can enjoy the ease of comfortable seats which can be converted into a horizontal sleeping surface at the press of a button.
The news is music to the ears of the business travellers as well as leisure vacationers who take flights to India from Frankfurt. On the other hand, ample of options will be available for travellers who seek comparatively cheap flight tickets in the economy class.
The newly introduced flight also makes for an added option for British travellers who look for indirect flights to Delhi via Germany.
As per the schedule stated in press release on airline’s website, a daily flight LH 760 will take off from Frankfurt at 13.45 hrs local time (LT) and land at Delhi at 00.35 hrs (LT). For the return flight to Frankfurt, flight LH 761 will depart Delhi at 02.25 hrs (LT) and arrive in Frankfurt 07.10 hrs (LT).
During the course of 2012, Lufthansa will also introduce new flights from Frankfurt to India connecting Bangalore, an industrial city in southern central part of the country.
