Passenger traffic and revenue have risen for Jet Airways.

The Indian airline Jet Airways has seen a sharp increase in its passenger load factors.Last month, its international passenger traffic saw a rise of 36.5 per cent, a figure the firm described as “robust”.

The company said that it has enjoyed eight months in a row of continual growth and that this has set a new record.

More demand has been made for the Premiere service and the Konnect Select service has also seen growth.

Nikos Kardassis, chief executive officer of Jet Airways, credited “effective network planning and strategic marketing initiatives” for the airline’s success.

Last month, Jet Airways planted 25 sapling trees to mark its 17th year of existence.

Mr Kardassis said that the drive, which involved more than a hundred members of staff in various departments, was a show of the airline’s commitment to green issues.

Jet Airways started with a fleet of four Boeing 737-300 aeroplanes and now has 87 planes, ten of which are Boeing 777-300 aircraft.
