“Travel insurance is as important as a suitcase. Don’t underestimate it,” said Graeme Trudgill, technical and corporate affairs executive at the British Insurance Brokers Association.
“Always buy it, it is cheap to buy but make sure you are buying the right thing for you,” he continued.
Mr Trudgill stressed the importance of taking out a policy, stating that in the event that something does happen, it will provide the peace of mind of being able to get in touch with someone who speaks the same language, knows how to help you – and can cover the cost.
