The Indian city of Jodhpur could be an ideal destination for those looking to discover the country.
Visitors should factor in a trip to the Mehrangarh Fort, which is located on a 400ft cliff and is one of India’s key monuments, which has been well-looked after. As well as a museum, there is also a cafe and a gift shop.
Jodhpur is also referred to as The Sun City and was founded by a chief of the Rathore clan in 1459.
In terms of accommodation, those benefiting from cheap flights to India may have a bit extra to spend on one of the city’s most luxurious hotels. The Umaid Bhawan Palace is described as “sumptuous” and offers guests a heated underground pool, a spa and a very tempting breakfast.
The easiest way to fly to Jodhpur is direct to Delhi or alternative flights to Mumbai can also be an option for British travellers.
