Bangalore Metro is to receive an upgrade soon with the installation of travelators.
Travellers taking flights to Bangalore who use the city’s Metro system could soon find the experience is easier than before, thanks to new travelators.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has proposed that it will install a walkway which is equipped with electric cars as part of a 10-acre lifestyle centre at Byappannahalli Metro station.
Bangalore will be the first city to introduce the system in India.
The network will circle around the station and to the Commuter Lifestyle Centre which is being created adjacent to the location.
“We are looking at developing a convention centre on the lines of the India Habitat Centre, Delhi. The Centre will have a hypermart, a 3-star hotel and even an art gallery,” said BLY Chavan, a spokesperson for BMRCL.
People taking flights to Bangalore later in the year could head to the Jagriti Theatre to take in one of the new plays being staged there as part of a forthcoming festival.
