A Red Sea resort is set to open Egypt’s first salt cave as part of a luxury health spa.Taba Heights will be home to the 100 metre long cave which is designed to help cure ailments related to the skin and digestive system, as well as heart disease and breathing problems.

The resort, managed by Orascom Development, is close to Taba International Airport and boasts over 5km of natural beaches. People booking cheap flights to Egypt could also be tempted by the five-star water sports facility, the 18-hole golf course and the wide range of shopping and restaurants available at Taba Height.

“We are really excited about the Salt Cave – it perfectly complements the serenity of Taba Heights and we are proud to provide such a beneficial outlet for the wellbeing of our guest[s],” said Omar El Halaby, vice president of marketing for Orascom Development.

Each salt cave session lasts 45 minutes and there is also a choice of salt-related products to purchase including cosmetics, lamps and candles.
