People looking for winter breaks may want to consider booking holidays to Egypt, which one travel journalist described as “pretty perfect”.
With the snow falling and the winter chill set in, people may be dreaming of spending some time in warmer climes.
Travel journalist Julia Buckley recommended heading to Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt to escape from the freezing weather.
Writing in the Times, she commented: “The package is pretty perfect: sun-sure, with cheap deals and no jetlag. All in all, antidotes to the January blues don’t come much easier to swallow than this.”
Ms Buckley explained that there is a wide range of hotels to choose from in Egypt’s largest seaside resort, with many offering all-inclusive deals.
Adventurous travellers may want to dive into the Red Sea’s underwater world, which boasts stunning marine environments that are home to a diverse range of colourful and exotic creatures.
Green turtles are frequent visitors to Sharm’s shores and the collection of reef dwellers – including clownfish, butterfly fish and the striking Picasso triggerfish – will keep divers and snorkelers occupied for hours.
