The final of this year’s World Travel Awards is to be held in London at the weekend.
Launched 17 years ago, the awards are well-regarded in the industry, according to the Wall Street Journal. This year, airlines such as Emirates, which offers flights to Dubai and hotels such as the Ritz have been nominated.
Graham Cooke, president and founder, World Travel Awards, explained the industry has faced a difficult time due to the world recession.
He added: “Yet these turbulent times have also seen the true leaders of travel turn adversity into opportunity. And winners on the night will all share this vision, entrepreneurial spirit and inner strength to succeed.”
The final of the awards will be presented by comedian Terry Alderton at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
