Sports lovers may be interested in a series of events taking place in Dubai this winter.

Sports enthusiasts may be tempted to book flights to Dubai once they learn of the emirate’s winter offerings.

A series of events will be taking place towards the end of the year, which has prompted Ian Scott, UK and Ireland director for Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, to encourage people to travel to the country.

Not only will visitors be able to catch a glimpse of the world’s tallest building and shop the hours away at the emirate’s malls, but they will also be able to enjoy some sporting action.

The Dubai Sevens rugby tournament is set to take place from December 3rd to 5th, as well as the final of the World Powerboat Championship from December 10th to 12th.

If they feel inspired, vacationers could peruse Dubai’s golf offerings, including the newly opened Greg Norman golf course.

“Dubai offers the ultimate winter holiday experience, with magnificent weather and something to offer everyone, whether it’s sports, shopping, iconic developments or just some good old fun in the sun,” Mr Scott said.

While on holiday in Dubai, keen golfers may want to visit the Tiger Woods course, designed by the world’s top golfer himself.
