Germany-based airline, airberlin, has announced the introduction of a direct service to Dubai from Berlin.
Joachim Hunold, chief executive officer of airberlin said the new route has attracted strong interest and could lead to increased flights in the future.
He said: “We have already reached over 50 per cent capacity, that’s one of the reasons we have made the decision to keep the flights going throughout the summer season.
“It will be a full year operation, and whether we increase the flights or not depends on the demand.”
In May, airberlin received the Skytrax World Airline Award for the sixth year running. The award was based on the results of a survey conducted from July 2009 to April 2010 involving around 17.9 million airline passengers.
