Dubai’s Emirates has opened a new lounge at Glasgow Airport. It is the 36th lounge in Emirates’ network and its 14th lounge in Europe. Unveiled by the airline’s President Sir Tim Clark, the facility marks Emirates 10th year of service to the Scottish city.
Emirates, Dubai-based full-service carrier, has recently opened a new lounge at Glasgow Airport, much to the delight of passengers who regularly book tickets on airline’s flights. The lounge was inaugurated by the airline’s President Sir Tim Clark and is being viewed as a celebration of the Commonwealth Games 2014 that are going on in Glasgow. It also marks Emirates’ 10th year of service to the Scottish city.
This Dubai-based airline is the first international carrier to open a dedicated lounge at Glasgow Airport. This is the 36th lounge in the airline’s network and its 14th lounge in Europe. The lounge is a short walk from Emirates’ boarding point at gate 30. The lounge is a great opportunity for air travellers, who are booking tickets on flights for the airline’s First Class and Business Class cabins, to enjoy the unrivalled offerings at Glasgow. Emirates Platinum and Gold Skywards members can also enjoy the lounge services.
“We have seen passenger numbers grow as we progressively developed our services and invested in Glasgow. The lounge opening today is a testament to the success of our double daily operation. It will be an unrivalled premium airport experience for our passengers travelling to popular destinations, including Bangkok, Perth, Sydney, and Singapore via our hub in Dubai,” Sir Tim Clark was quoted in the airline’s web release.
Over the years, Emirates has emerged as one of Scotland’s leading long-haul airlines and the new lounge further reveals the Middle-eastern operator’s sustained commitment to Scotland. Emirates is also the first carrier to bring the A380, the world’s largest commercial aircraft, to Scotland.
Travellers who are booking premium class air tickets and disembarking flights at Glasgow will have a range of facilities and services at their disposal. Relaxed seating areas, a dining area, shower facilities and a business centre are some of the offerings for guests. People will also be able to appreciate the design of the lounge that replicates the design visuals and modern style of Emirates Lounges at Dubai Airport’s Concourse A. Further, guests are served Scottish and international gourmet dishes, along with a complimentary full-bar service.
