Sailing enthusiasts taking cheap holidays in Dubai this year will be able to attend the Louis Vuitton Trophy Regatta, it has been revealed.
Those on cheap holidays in Dubai will be presented with the opportunity to attend a high-profile event this year, as the 2010 Louis Vuitton Trophy Regatta is set to be held in the emirate.
After losing out to Nice in 2009, the region will welcome sailing enthusiasts from all over the world for the event, reported the Telegraph.
The region bid to host the contest as part of its intentions to raise its profile among the international sporting community and possibly attract other major events in the future.
Paul Cayard, chairman of the World Sailing Team Association, told the newspaper: “I’ve been sailing in Dubai on several occasions. The conditions are ideal, the course is next to the shore and the atmosphere is exciting.”
He added that this may set a precedent for the region and encourage more people and organisations to become aware of the many advantages it has to offer.
Another happening that may attract the attention of those taking cheap holidays in Dubai this year is the Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival – which will be taking place from February 10th to 19th.
