Dubai is set to receive a brand new ferry terminal, it has been revealed.
Those booking cheap holidays in Dubai may be pleased to learn that the destination is to receive a brand new ferry terminal in the future, meaning that transfers could be made easier and more excursion opportunities made available.
According to Maktoob Business, the 3,800-square-metre terminal may be opened by January 2010 and will be capable of catering to three or four ships simultaneously.
Hamad Mohammad bin Mairen, the director for business for the department of tourism and commerce marketing (DTCM), told the news provider that until it is completed, “a temporary set-up will be made to cater to the needs of the cruise ships calling at Dubai from September”.
He said that the DTCM is optimistic that the terminal will provide a boost for tourism.
Another feature those booking cheap holidays to Dubai can enjoy in the future is the area’s brand new metro system, which is scheduled to be opened later this month.
