Dubai’s department of tourism has been named the best tourist board at the British Travel Awards.
Travellers planning holidays to Dubai may be interested to discover that the tourist board for the emirate has received a prestigious travel award.
Dubai’s department of tourism and commerce marketing (DTCM) was recognised at the British Travel Awards as it walked away with the title of best tourist board.
Consumers from across the country vote in the awards, which are considered the largest measure of public opinion regarding the travel industry in the UK.
Khalid A bin Sulayem, DTCM director general, said: “This will motivate us to raise the bar for our services offered to the travel industry and tourists, especially in the UK, which remained a top source market for Dubai’s tourism industry.”
Last year there were more than 90,000 votes cast in the awards, which span over seventy categories.
Dubai Airport managed to take second place in the best overseas airport category, with Singapore winning the title.
