Around 800 firms have stated their intentions to attend an interiors show taking place in Dubai in October.

People heading on flights to Dubai to attend the region’s largest interiors show will be greeted by the choice of visiting stalls from around 800 different companies.

The Index show is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year and is only showing signs of getting bigger, with the organisers stating that representatives from 49 countries are to attend.

Taking place from October 22nd to 25th 2011, the show at the Dubai World Trade Centre will see 20,000 sqm of floor space dedicated to the newest products and innovations in the world of interior design.

In this years show, it is to include sections dedicated to areas such as furnishing, lighting and outdoor living.

“The introduction of the product-specific shows solidifies Index’s position as the ‘must attend’ design show for industry professionals from the Mena region,” said Paula Al Chami, the show’s event director.

People taking flights to Dubai to attend could also be interested in the nation’s methods to reduce its carbon footprint, which now include dimming streetlamps to cut electricity consumption.
