Christchurch will welcome the US and Canada for the second in a three-game international series.

People who have taken cheap flights to Christchurch could soon be watching some of the top hockey players from Canada and the US go face to face.

As part of a three game series taking place in New Zealand, the two sides will bring a taste of the NHL to the southern hemisphere.

Attendees can expect to see fireworks, big-screen televisions and flamethrowers as part of the entertainment at the match, which takes place on Saturday July 30th at the CBS Canterbury Arena.

“The players have been carefully selected to bring you the largest action sports event of the year, in an unbelievable display of speed, skill and action,” explained the organisers.

Commentating live at the event will be legendary Canadian pundit Kerry Goulet, while Kyle Quincey is one of the iconic stars set to take the ice.

The defender currently plays for Colorado Avalanche and has previously represented Detroit Red Wings and Los Angeles Kings.
