International travellers flying with Qantas are now able to check in online up to two days before their trip, thanks to a new check in and advance seat selection service.
Lesley Grant, the Australian airline’s executive manager of customer service and marketing, said the new system will offer an “enhanced travel experience”, Datamonitor reported.
Those who check in for international flights online will see their waiting times at the airport reduced, she added, as they will only need to drop their bags and undergo the correct visa checks before boarding.
“Our aim is to provide travellers with a wide range of services to ensure a seamless travel experience, and customers can expect to see even more enhancements to domestic and international customer services later in 2009,” she said.
Holidaymakers planning to travel between London and Sydney later this year may benefit from additional A380 services between the cities. Qantas intends to increase its current service of three weekly flights on the airbus to five by the end of August and daily by November.
