Travellers in New Zealand can learn about the traditional ways of trying a sari during their stay.

People taking flights to New Zealand can have an interesting clash of cultures during their stay by taking part in a sari tying lesson.

In celebration of the forthcoming Diwali festival, visitors to Auckland can join in the fun by heading to one of the city’s libraries where sessions will be held to instruct people how to put on a sari correctly.

As well as learning how to put on this iconic garment of Indian culture, visitors to the city can also get involved in a range of other events, including Bollywood dance performances, henna painting and history and culture talks.

This year, Diwali takes place on October 26th and is also referred to as the festival of lights.

Auckland has a strong heritage of celebrating the different people who live in the city, with travellers who took flights to New Zealand earlier this month able to attend the annual International Auckland Carnival.
