Air India Express Adds Flights to Clear Vacation Crowd to Gulf

Air India’s budget unit, Air India Express will run additional flights from Mangalore, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvanthapuram to Gulf destinations. The flights will run from September 17 till October 27.

Offering ample options to foreign vacationers, India’s low cost carrier Air India Express (AIE) has announced its decision to launch additional flights to different destinations in the Gulf.

Around 130 additional flights will be offered from Mangalore, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvanthapuram to the Gulf, between September 17 and October 27, as per news reports. This is done to clear the vacation crowd between the two destinations, said an airline spokesperson.

Air India Express is a low-cost arm of Air India, country’s flag carrier. Known for offering cheap flight options to and from India, AIE operates international services mostly to the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

AIE will operate Flight IX 343/344 on the Kozhikode-Dubai-Kozhikode sector on all Sundays from Sept 17-Oct 27. Flight IX 363/348 will operate on the Kozhikode-Abu Dhabi-Kozhikode sector on all Thursdays. Kozhikode-Dammam-Kozhikode route will be served by Flight IX 381/382 daily, says the airline’s press release.

On Mondays and Saturdays, Flight IX 419/4522 will serve on the Kochi-Abu Dhabi-Kochi route. On all Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays Flight IX 4199/452 will operate on Kochi-Dubai-Kochi sector.

As per the release, Flight IX 537/5388 will be plied on Thiruvanthapuram-Abu Dhabi-Thiruvanthapuram route on all Fridays. Flight IX 5377/538 will be operated on all Thursdays and Saturdays on Thiruvanthapuram-Dubai-Thiruvanthapuram sector.

On all Mondays and Wednesdays, IX 535/536 will operate on Thiruvanthapuram-Sharjah-Thiruvanthapuram route.

On Mangalore-Abu Dhabi-Muscat-Mangalore sector, Flight IX 817/818 will ply on all Saturdays, the release added. IX 383/384 on Mangalore-Dubai-Mangalore route will be operational on all Mondays.

Huge availability of flights to the Gulf region from popular South Indian cities is likely to make travel cheap and easy for locals as well as foreign vacationers in the region looking for convenient options to fly.
