Anyone who has booked flights to Sydney may want to consider climbing its Harbour Bridge during Earth Hour.
People who have booked flights to Sydney and are planning to climb the Harbour Bridge during their stay should consider taking on the task during the evening of March 27th.
This is because between 20:30 and 21:30 (local time) all the lights in Sydney will be switched off as part of Earth Hour.
Visitors to the city will have a unique opportunity to see it by night under the light of the stars as the international event to encourage action on climate change takes place.
To make the climb even more memorable, the group will be led by astronomer Fred Watson, who will provide information about the constellations overhead.
“Earth Hour will be the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of our city’s night sky at its best,” he noted.
During the event in 2009, almost one billion people turned their lights out across 87 countries, with landmarks including the Empire State Building, Big Ben and the Great Pyramids all being plunged into darkness.
