Watch one of the world’s best loved operas in Sydney’s most stunning location.

The Opera on Sydney Harbour festival has begun in the city with La Traviata staged in one of the most stunning locations in the city.

Held at Mrs Macquarie’s Point, a stage has been created especially for the production to showcase the amazing performances and also the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

With dazzling costumes and the incredible talents of Emma Matthews as Violetta and Gianluca Terranova as Alfredo Germont on stage, the only thing that could possibly eclipse them is the incredible nine-metre chandelier that has been created to suspend from the stage.

Containing Swarovski crystals, the chandelier is sure to be just one of the memorable sights from the opera.

The production is limited to a three-week run and will close on April 15th 2012.

The city is home to a number of impressive productions at the present time, with Macbeth currently taking place at the Sydney Opera House.
