Singapore based popular low cost carrier, Tigerair recently started offering tickets on four weekly direct flights between Singapore and the Maldives. The airline started operating its new route with effect from 24 January 2014.
International flyers who are often to be found scrambling for tickets on cheap flights between the Lion City, Singapore and the pristine Indian Ocean archipelago of the Maldives now have more flexibility and added options made available to them by Tigerair.
Singapore based popular low cost airline recently launched four weekly direct flights between Singapore and the Maldives. The popular budget carrier started offering tickets on its newest route with effect from 24 January 2014, revealed airline’s press release.
This recent development has made Tigerair the only no-frills carrier offering direct services to Malé – the Maldives’ capital from Singapore. Holidaymakers who have long been waiting for a holiday trip to the pristine archipelago of the Maldives can now book cheap air tickets on Tigerair’s four weekly flights departing from Singapore every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0950hrs and arriving in Malé at 1125hrs.
The return flights from Malé are scheduled to depart at 1215hrs on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday arriving in Singapore at 1940hrs.

Industry insiders believe that the airline is offering tickets aboard its flights between the two popular holiday destinations in its endeavour to tap the increasing travel demand on the route. The development is good news not only for the leisure flyers who look for cheap air tickets but also for the business flyers, who crave for travel tickets aboard direct flights on the route for swift connections.
Besides adding new flights on its growing sun-sand-sea network, the airline also started offering air tickets from Langkawi and Boracay to some of the beachcombers’ favourite picks such as Bali, Krabi and Phuket.
Using a fleet of narrow-body Airbus aircraft, Tigerair offers tickets aboard flights on its extensive network of destinations throughout Asia and to Australia from its hub at Singapore Changi Airport’s Budget Terminal.
