International holidaymakers who are planning to book tickets to travel between Malaysia and South India in the near future will have added flights at their disposal made available to them by popular Indian low budget airline, SpiceJet.
The popular no-frills airline is all geared up to start offering tickets on its international flights between Malaysia’s colourful capital, Kuala Lumpur and the newest Madurai Airport in India by the year-end, revealed online sources.
The airline is still waiting for necessary approvals from authorities from both Malaysia and India to start offering tickets aboard its international flights. Madurai Airport in India has recently been upgraded to an international airport.
At present, only the low cost arm of Indian national airline, Air India Express offers tickets aboard direct flights to Malaysia. India’s largest carrier, Jet Airways stopped its operations into Malaysia but continued with offering tickets on its code-share flights on the popular Kuala Lumpur-Chennai sector with Malaysia Airlines.
Industry insiders believe that SpiceJet’s newly announced flights between Madurai and Kuala Lumpur may help it to cash in on the rising travel demand on the route.
Chennai-based low cost carrier, SpiceJet offers tickets for cheap flights deployed on an extensive domestic network in India. As for its international routes, the airline currently offers tickets aboard flight services to international destinations like Dubai and Kathmandu.
