The International Conference on Women’s Sports is to open in Abu Dhabi.
A conference aimed at attracting more women to become involved in sports is to take place in Abu Dhabi.
The International Conference on Women’s Sports has opened in the emirate today (April 10th) under the guidance of Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, the chairperson of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Women’s Union and supreme chairperson of the Family Development Foundation.
Under the title of Sports: Health and Happiness, the two-day event at the Emirates Palace will draw many sports experts and professional athletes from around the world to discuss how to encourage more people to become involved with sport.
It will also seek to highlight how getting involved with sport can help to improve women’s social, physical and psychological outlooks.
By hosting the event in UAE, it is hoped more women in the region will think about taking up sports.
The emirate regularly hosts a number of events, with the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair recently opened to showcase 500,000 new titles in a number of languages.
