In what may be good news for people travelling on holidays to South Africa and other destinations served by Virgin Atlantic, the carrier has announced new benefits for its passengers.

To celebrate Easter, anyone who is flying from Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester and who checks in online will receive printable vouchers worth £6 to be used on the inflight duty free service.

There will also be special offer vouchers up for grabs on short-stay parking and shops within the terminal.

Paul Dickinson, spokesperson for Virgin Atlantic, said: “We are sure our passengers will enjoy this Easter promotion,” adding that the vouchers will mean even better discounts on onboard items.

Meanwhile, another new service could benefit would-be entrepreneurs; PitchTV is to be shown on all Virgin flights as of June and anyone with a genius idea can submit a video showing it off.

This may allow it to be spotted by potential investors and could lead to sales in a Dragons’ Den style.

Richard Branson said he wishes the idea had been around when he was a young man with big ideas.
