In news that may be of interest to those looking for flights to India, Jet Airways has been named as the country’s top airline for both economy and business class passengers at a recent awards ceremony.

According to the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation, the carrier was presented with the awards during a “glittering” ceremony in Mumbai by Ambika Soni, India’s minister of travel and culture.

In his acceptance speech at the CNBC-Awaaz Travel Awards 2008, Naresh Goyal, chairman of Jet Airways, stated that the airline is committed to excellent service standards.

“Despite our aggressive international expansion, we have continued to focus on the domestic market, with these awards standing testimony to the excellence of our in-flight product and service,” he said.

Last month, Jet Airways was presented with awards for its high-quality service and in-flight experience at a ceremony held at London’s British Museum. The airline has been serving the UK and Ireland for around two years.
