According to Insurefor.com, sales of travel cover increased by 37 per cent in one five week period during late 2008, showing that the message about securing cover is getting through to many.
“People are still enjoying luxuries including holidays and not just in the UK but to Europe and beyond,” said the firm’s managing director Antony Martin.
He added that ski insurance has undergone the biggest growth, perhaps due to the excellent snow conditions seen worldwide this season, as well as recent research highlighting the extensive cost of being repatriated in the event of an accident.
People thinking of going on ski holidays to Australia may wish to consider booking flights to Melbourne, from where they can reach resorts around the Alpine and Mt Buffalo national parks.
