Trivandrum International Airport will very soon offer tourist visa on arrival on flights to India connecting Kerala. Passengers from 11 nations will be allowed maximum of 30 days stay in the country for recreation or sightseeing.

Tourists on flights to Kerala, India for holidays may soon get visa on arrival with a maximum validity of 30 days. Trivandrum International Airport will very soon be able to grant tourist visa on arrival (T-VoA) to citizens of 11 countries, revealed online sources.

The airport is the fifth international gateway to India to get the authority to issue the visa to passengers arriving on flights to India. Authorities have already approved T-VoA for citizens of France, Germany and Russia on India bound flights. The nod for citizens of Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Myanmar and Indonesia to avail this facility at Trivandrum International Airport is still awaited.

The move will allow Trivandrum International Airport to double the number of foreign tourists on flights to India connecting Kerala in a span of three to four years.

Besides Trivandrum, Goa and Bangalore may also join the bandwagon with Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata for the foreign tourists arriving on flights to India to avail this facility.

Sources further revealed that T-VoA will be restricted only for recreation, sightseeing or meeting friends in the country, barring any other purpose or activity. Those disembarking their flights to Kerala and applying for visa on arrival need to own a passport with minimum six-month validity and must not have a residence or occupation in the country to qualify for T-VoA.
