4th of July, the day of independence for the USA is the day of great celebration in the country. As the schools and offices close to mark the event, locals as well as tourists look forward to celebrating the day with their friends, family and acquaintances in the most eventful way possible. Stars & Stripes Explosion is one of the best events hosting an array of live entertainment activities, including musical tributes to great artists, world-class magic shows and performances by military bands. A blast of colourful fireworks brings an end to a day of revelry-making.
Outer Banks, North Carolina
Take your family and head out to Outer Banks for a holiday full of exciting events and concluded by colourful fireworks along the entire length of the coastline. Participate in a live music event near Avon Pier on Hatteras Island or a range of entertaining contests organised along Currituck Heritage Park in Corolla.
Traverse City, Michigan
The week-long National Cherry Festival held in Traverse City is one of the best 4th of July events in Michigan. You can enjoy a special breakfast of cherry pancakes in the morning and witness U.S. Navy Blue Angels overhead in the afternoon. Later, enjoy fireworks along the south end of West Grand Traverse Bay, near the Festival Open Space Park, Clinch Park Marina, Bryant and West End Beaches.

Your children will get all revved up at knowing that they will be participating in The Great American 4th of July Kids Bike Parade, one of the best 4th of July events in the country. Your entire family can gather together for a patriotic speech and participate in a costume contest on an American-themed party to be hosted on the historic Queen Mary ocean liner.
Nantucket, Massachusetts
Defined by stunning beaches, quaint architecture and sumptuous seafood, it doesn’t get more American than here in Nantucket. While the celebrations are always held on gargantuan scale here, this year will see the whole of Downtown come alive with games, pie-eating contests and a number of other family-friendly events. If you would like to continue the festivities, stay here till the 5th when the sky will be lighted with fireworks.
