Witness a range of adventure sports and competitions at the Gravity Adventure festival in South Africa.

Adrenaline junkies need look no further than a holiday in South Africa this August as it prepares to host the Gravity Adventure Festival.

Taking place from August 14th to 16th, the event is “one of the most diverse sporting events, bringing together a range of adventure disciplines”, said events guide WhatsOnWhen.

Sports include rock climbing, trail running, river rafting, canoeing, mountain biking, surf-skiing and white-water kayaking.

Entertainment will also take the form of a short film contest, a firechain competition, live music and a live Tri-nations rugby tournament.

This year is the eighth year of the annual event which takes place at the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, near Kleinmond in South Africa.

Holidaymakers catching a flight to Cape Town can reach the destination in an hour and there is a caravan park nearby for people to find accommodation.

Between 650 and 700 competitors are expected to attend what is thought to be South Africa’s biggest adventure sports festival, according to the event’s official website.
