Fans of Bollywood movies may be able to combine their interest with a summer holiday this year, thanks to a new film release.
Love Story 2050, which premiered in London last week, was filmed on location in South Australia and could be the ideal destination for sun-seekers and movie buffs.
Shots of Kangaroo Island, the Outback and state capital Adelaide are all visible in the film, which stars Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra and commands the biggest budget of any Bollywood movie to date.
Neil Saunders, UK marketing manager of the South Australian Tourist Board, said he was pleased that the film’s producers had chosen South Australia as a location.
“As a destination, South Australia is very proud to have been the setting for this exciting, groundbreaking movie. Making movies is something we already know a lot about.
“Our portfolio of internationally acclaimed films includes Mad Max, Gallipoli and Breaker Morant.”
Mr Saunders added that the release of Baz Luhrmann’s new film Australia later this year should also encourage visitors to consider the area as a holiday destination.
In news that may be of interest to those considering holidays to Australia, South Australia covers some of the most arid parts of the continent and is the fourth largest of its six states and two territories.
