Wine connoisseurs should go on holidays to South Africa to taste beverages unlike any in other countries, officials have said.

The country is to host the annual general meeting of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network in November, which will see visitors from all over the globe come together to see how the South African wine industry works and how it has achieved sustainability.

Tourists can also go on tours in the Cape winelands, which have long been popular with visitors.

“South Africa is a world leader in eco-sensitive wine production. Our integrated production of wine is regarded as the most progressive production integrity programme of its kind,” said Cape Town committee member Andre Morgenthal, according to BizCommunity.com.

Reuters also recommends Table Mountain and Nelson Mandela’s former cell as excellent tourist attractions for those in Cape Town.

In addition, it says, no-one visiting Cape Town should miss out on sampling the local seafood, with grilled crayfish, Mozambican prawns and octopus all on offer.
