A key tour operator is launching a new range of tours that may appeal to those planning cheap flights to South Africa.
Tucan Travel is offering 40 new tours in East and Southern Africa starting from March 2011. Lasting from nine to 73 days, the excursions will take in some of the region’s most stunning and alternative sites.Bec Whiffin, Tucan Travel’s general manager UK & Europe, explained the new tours are a result of both market research and feedback from past customers.

She added: “Africa is an awe-inspiring continent and these tours will give more travellers the opportunity to … explore Cape Town’s amazing markets, among many other amazing experiences.”

The UK-based company also offers a choice between campsite-based excursions or more luxury options which include stays at some of the country’s leading hotels and guesthouses.

In 2008, South Africa was named as one of the top ten countries in the world in the Conde Nast Traveller’s international awards for tourism.
