The X Factor presenter and US dancer also appeared to confirm they are officially a couple after sharing a kiss at a New Year’s Eve party close to Cape Town.

An unnamed source explained to the Daily Mirror:”Cheryl and Derek are together and don’t care who knows it.

“She wanted to spend New Year’s Eve with Derek ­because she sees her future with him. 2010 was the worst year of Cheryl’s life. But now she is looking ­forward to happier times with Derek.”

The party was hosted by property developer Preston Haskell at his home in Fresnaye – close to South Africa’s Table Mountain.

It is believed that the couple are staying at the luxury Camps Bay resort – which is also a favourite destination for Prince Harry.

Camps Bay Resort has a total of 48 rooms, studios and apartments and has an exclusive private beach area.
