People visiting Mumbai could be able to sample a range of delicious dishes in time for Republic Day.

Travellers on flights to Mumbai could be able to sample some culinary delights in the city in the coming days as a range of dishes are created to celebrate Republic Day.

Some of the city’s hotels have announced they are making dishes to mark the event, with the Hindustan Times noting the Hotel Transit in Vile Parle will be one of the locations offering a gourmet menu.

The hotel will be creating a spread of 26 dishes which will include traditional Indian fare as well as some other varieties that have been inspired by the foods of neighbouring countries.

“Transit, that’s home in Mumbai to both domestic and international travellers, is buzzing with demand for both local and international cuisine,” the hotel’s managing director Bharat Malkani told the publication.

Several exciting events have been taking place recently which may have been attended by people who took flights to Mumbai including the Gool S Poonawalla Million horse race, which was held at the Mahalakshmi Racecourse.
