Tourists will be able to visit the Mumbai Film City from November.

It will soon be even easier for tourists to see behind the scene of the legendary Bollywood film phenomenon in Mumbai.

As the largest movie industry in the world, it is not surprising that people visiting India want to learn about Bollywood – especially when it is so closely associated with the country’s culture.

From November, the famed Mumbai Film City will be opening its doors to the public under a new scheme initiated by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and Maharashtra Film, Stage & Cultural Development Corporation Limited.

Initially, weekend tours will take people to the lush greens in Goregaon, where most of the films are shot and if they are lucky enough they will also get to speak with the actors and stars of upcoming films.

Film City is spread across 520 acres and has 44 permanent outdoor locations, as well as 16 air-conditioned studios.
