The latest official stats have shown an increasing number of people are choosing to fly to India.
The latest figures have confirmed that more people are catching flights to India than ever before.
Statistics from Incredible India show that last month, the number of foreign tourist arrivals in the country was 415,000. This is higher than the 402,000 total seen in September 2011 and a considerable increase from the same month two years ago when 370,000 people visited.
Since January, the number of overseas visitors is currently standing at 4.63 million – an increase of 5.9 per cent when compared with the corresponding period last year.
India has made a concerted effort to make the cultural and natural attractions on its shores more accessible to foreigners in recent times and it seems these figures justify the endeavours.
It now boasts a great number of destinations that can suit any number of tastes from the tropical beaches of Goa to the bustling dynamism of mega cities such as Mumbai and Delhi.
