There are places in India that can satisfy travellers looking for luxury, one expert has said.
As well as offering great beach holidays in the costal regions such as Goa and adventure trips in the north of the nation, India can also provide for those looking for a bit of luxury.
Arun Bhat, travel writer and photographer at Paintedstork.com, said that Rajasthan – just to the south west of Delhi – has plenty of lavish resorts to stay.
“[It has] a lot of palaces and highly up-market places. There’s also a town called Udaipur, which is known as one of the most romantic places in India,” he said.
Mr Bhat explained that it is a very picturesque locale and the hotels surround the most beautiful lake.
He also said that tourists should also try the local food wherever they stay in India, as it is a great way to sample some of the local culture.
The expert recommends Masala Dosa when staying in the tropical south and those in and around Delhi in the north should opt for rotis – a flatbread that is eaten as a side dish.
