Hospitality company Carlson has announced plans to increase the number of hotels it manages in India.
“It is a strategic market for us and we believe that the aggressive expansion plan to have 100 hotels by 2015 will solidify our position in the country as the number one global hospitality brand,” said Carlson’s president and chief executive officer Hubert Joly, reports Press Trust of India.
Carlson has opened three new hotels so far in 2010 and plans to open a further five before the end of the year. The management company is also expected to open at least 15 in 2011.
Worldwide, Carlson manages a total of 1,075 hotels, including those operating under Radisson, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Park Inn and Park Plaza branding.
