Water sports facilities are set to be given a shake-up.
The state of Goa in India is one of the country’s most popular tourist hotspots – party due to its unique mixture of cultures – but mainly because of its paradise-style coastline.
Some of the best beaches in the whole of Asia can be found in Goa and soon they will be used for more than just sunbathing.
Tourist authorities in the state are launching a drive to get more tourists to enjoy the waves, according to the Times of India.
Goa has already seen an increase in the number of tourists opting to go white-water rafting after a similar scheme promoting that activity to visitors, but with miles and miles of sandy beach waiting for keen windsurfers and sailors, this new initiative could really take off.
The Baga and Calangute beaches in the north of Goa are currently best equipped for water sport enthusiasts.
