The HOHO bus service in Delhi could be extended to new areas.

People who are booking flights to Delhi could soon find it much easier to travel around the city.

The Hop-On/Hop-Off (HOHO) service currently operates in areas such as Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Janpath and is particularly useful to those who work in the region.

However, Delhi Tourism wants the buses to cater to central locations such as the Connaught Place as well, in order to make it more useful to foreign visitors.

The organisation has therefore got in touch with Delhi Traffic Police to obtain the permission it requires.

Sudheer Sobti, Delhi Tourism’s chief manager, said: “The idea is to facilitate the better of view of the Connaught Place to the tourists, who will be able to take precious memories back.”

This comes at a time when the area’s tourist offering is receiving a lot of praise.

Delhi was recently ranked as the tenth best city in the Asia Pacific region for shopaholics by Global Blue, which analysed 270,000 of the world’s leading retailers, shopping brands and hotels.
