Dubai is known for its posh hotels, opulent shopping malls, pristine beaches and the beautiful man made islands, but did you know that Dubai also has lush and beautiful parks? It is true that Dubai has a desert climate but you will have a tough time believing this, once you behold the spectacular beauty of these parks. While there are quite a few parks in Dubai, here we have presented our top three picks.
Safa Park
Set up in 1975, Safa Park is one of the largest parks in Dubai. The park is famous for its fun fair, playgrounds, open air area for games and picnic, and three lakes. Lush lawns cover almost 80% of the park. There is even a hill here, which offers a good view of the landscape. One of the biggest attractions of the park is a waterfall, which cascades down the hill and joins the biggest of the three lakes. The lake is a great place for boating and also features a fountain.
Mamzar Beach Park
Mamzer Beach Park is arguably the best beach park in Dubai. It is so huge that people drive cars inside. With five beaches, a vast stretch of grassland and an outdoor swimming pool – it sure has been built on a grand scale. The park offers barbeque facilities. So you can take your family here for a barbeque picnic! And it doesn’t end there. In case you forget some ingredient for your barbeque or want something to munch on, visit the grocery store located inside the park! But if you don’t want to spend your time barbecuing, simply head to one of the cafes.
Besides, there are play areas for the little ones, changing rooms, washrooms, bikes-for-hire, and of course, the beautiful views of the Sharjah Lagoons.
Creek Park
Creek Park is located in the middle of the old city, on the coast of Dubai Creek. Known to be one of the oldest parks in Dubai, it is still as famous as it was in the old days. It is an amusing and interactive park for children and grown-ups alike. The park, due to its location near the creek is often caressed by pleasant breezes, and the lush vegetation increases its serenity twofold. Like Mamzar, this park also has areas for conducting barbeque picnics. The Dubai Dolphinarium and Children City Centre are located in the park. Both of these have separate entry fees.
