The Sega Republic indoor theme park is now open in Dubai
Computer game and technology lovers looking for cheap flights to Dubai might bring their holidays forward so they can sample one of the region’s newly-opened attractions – the Sega Republic indoor theme park.
Taking up 76,000 square feet, the space is the result of a collaboration between Sega and Emaar Retail and is home to over 150 games and nine rides, reports Emirates Business 24/7.
These include the Sonic Hopper, Spin Gear, a spinning rollercoaster, and Halfpipe Canyon – an interactive ride which involves snowboarding down a seven-metre slope.
Arif Amiri, chief executive of Emaar Retail, told the news provider that that the park is “the first of its kind” in the region and “delivers an unmatched, distinctive leisure experience for all visitors”, meaning those with cheap flights to Dubai could be in for some unparalleled fun.
He added: “The theme park complements the myriad other leisure attractions within the mall and provides quality entertainment for all visitors.”
Sega, which has bases in a number of countries worldwide, manufactures computer games but no longer produces consoles.
