Top British comic Omid Djalili is due to play a stand-up gig in Dubai next month.
British-Iranian comedian Omid Djalili will be bringing his wry take on the Middle East to Dubai as he has been confirmed for a stand-up gig in the Emirati city next month.
Djalili will perform at the Madinat Jumeirah amphitheatre on May 6th as part of the Comedy Social series of stand-up gigs.
Having burst onto the scene at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 1995, Djalili has won rave reviews for his performance as Fagin in the West End musical Oliver!, as well as his starring role in the recent satirical move, The Infidel.
Other accolades include being voted as Britain’s 60th favourite all-time comedian in a Channel 4 viewers’ poll.
Tickets for his show at the Madinat Jumeirah are on sale now, with prices starting at Dh 200 (£33).
His timing couldn’t be better, as a recent survey for Time Out Dubai found that comedy has just overtaken action as the most popular movie genre in the UAE.
