A new five-star hotel close to Dubai’s airport is to be launched.

Ideal for those taking flights to Dubai, the venture between the state’s leading luxury hotel company Jumeirah and Dubai Duty Freewill create a new resort at the Aviation Club to the north of the international airport.

The hotel will offer guests the choice of 239-rooms, two restaurants, two bars and two lounges as well as a spa and health club. Business travellers could also be tempted by the hotel’s conference and banqueting facilities.

Gerald Lawless, executive chairman of Jumeirah Group, said: “We are honoured to have been invited by Dubai Duty Free to operate this exceptional luxury business hotel.

“It gives Jumeirah additional presence in the heart of Dubai and we look forward to delivering our promise of ‘stay different’ at the property when it opens.”

The Jumeirah Group, founded in 1997, is planning to open a further six hotels in 2011, including Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in Dubai, Jumeirah Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai, Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vitavelli in the Maldives, Jumeirah Frankfurt.
