Dubai-based airline Emirates will launch a new luxury service flying to Bangkok, it has been announced.

According to the carrier, the new service will be the first of its kind flying from anywhere in the world into the Thai capital.

The new A280 flight will run from June 1st and will offer a new standard of comfort and luxury in air travel to the city.

“Bangkok offers an energetic and vibrant mix of culture, art and architecture, and has become a favourite amongst those seeking holidays in south-east Asia,” said senior vice-president of Emirates Holidays John Felix.

Mr Felix went on to say the destination offered “something for everyone” from the quiet contemplation of the Grand Palace complex to the hustle and bustle of Siam Square Pratunum market.

He added that people flying to Thailand before June 4th would be able to take advantage of the recent decision made by the country’s government to temporarily suspend fees on tourist visa applications.

Emirates launched in 1985 and it now flies to almost 100 destinations in 60 countries across six continents.
