An Olympic snowboarder has given Dubai’s indoor ski slopes his seal of approval.

The quality of Dubai’s indoor ski slopes is so good that they could be used to train a future champion, a two-time Olympic silver medallist has claimed.

Brits looking to enjoy some energetic activities after arriving on flights to Dubai may have many ideas in mind, desert safaris and quad biking being just two examples, but skiing and snowboarding are some of the UAE city’s lesser known attractions.

Danny Kass, who won silver medals at two Winter Olympics, told local newspaper The National that the simulated slopes of Ski Dubai are a perfect training ground for young hopefuls.

“The snow is a lot better than I expected and it’s the same park set-up here as most resorts in the US. These are the same features you’d find anywhere… it’s actually quite mind blowing,” he said.

Danny is currently visiting Dubai as a judge of the Grenade Games snowboarding event at the Ski Dubai indoor slopes.

Riders cane hone their skills at the skiing complex, which has five runs of varying difficulty, as well as a 90-metre quarter pipe, especially for snowboarders to show off their tricks.
