Anyone with a keen eye for fashion could be interested in taking holidays to Dubai this week in order to witness one of the city’s key events in the industry.
Dubai Fashion 2009 has kicked off today (February 9th) and will run until February 15th, ideal for a Valentine’s trip perhaps.
It will showcase the latest fashions from designers including John Galliano, Christian Dior and Valentino and will mark the grand finale of the Dubai Shopping Festival, which began on January 15th.
According to the Dubai City Guide, fashionistas can expect a “regal regency rock” theme as part of Mr Galliano’s collection, as he was apparently a big fan of the Queen Mother.
Dubai Fashion was established in 2004 as the emirate city began to establish itself as a hub for high end fashion and overseas shopping trips.
Many people now book flights to Dubai simply to benefit from the tax-free shopping available in its many malls.
