Abdulla Hassan Amiri, the operations and logistics manager for the event, said it has something for everyone and that a huge number of promotions and special offers will be going on, enabling shoppers to get great prices on products.
“[It’s going to attract people] from all over the world. There’s entertainment, there’s the biggest malls in the world [and] there’s also the desert – [the tourists] can enjoy it,” he commented.
The Dubai Shopping Festival is to take place from January 15th until February 15th and 2009 will mark the 14th year that the extravaganza has taken place.
According to tourist officials, more than two million visitors attend the event every year in order to experience the huge shopping centres and benefit from the zero VAT charged on purchases in the Emirate city.
