Companies from around the world have headed to Dubai in order to attend an advertising festival.
The Dubai Lynx Advertising Festival kicks off in the emirate today (March 5th 2012) and has seen companies from around the world travelling to the state to discuss the latest developments in the sector.
Held until March 7th, the event will see a host of exhibitions and workshops taking place to provide the latest info on developments in advertising and marketing.
The biggest advertising festival of its kind in the Middle East and north Africa (Mena), the Dubai Lynx International Advertising Festival also hosts awards and this year has received more than 2,000 applications from 17 nations.
“The fact that the awards have attracted over 2,000 entries is testament to the importance of Dubai Lynx to the creative community in the Mena region,” said Philip Thomas, chief executive officer of Cannes Lions, the company which organised the awards.
Dubai regularly hosts a range of events and exhibitions, with the state recently playing host to some of the world’s most famous tennis players at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
